We are currently recruiting Registered Nurses (RN) for full-time positions at multiple adult correctional institutions in Columbia, South Carolina. ** One location includes an inmate psychiatric care facility and an infirmary. Your training will help ensure high-quality care for those in need, and you can expand your clinical background working with a varied patient population. The facilities are located in Richland County and are accessible from I-26 and I-20 via Broad River Road, within a commutable distance from surrounding regions, including Batesburg-Leesville, Blythewood, Chapin, Lugoff-Elgin, and Newberry.

In addition, these correctional RN jobs offer a premium hourly pay rate significantly higher than the average rate for RNs in the Columbia area.

Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment according to the specified schedule.

• Mandatory 3-week onboarding phase for orientation and training, first shift (8a–5p), weekdays, at the beginning of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Full-time schedule, 36 hours
• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Day shift positions (6a–7p)
• Night shift positions (6p–7a)
• **The night shifts at the inmate psychiatric care facility rotate to the infirmary at the institution location housing those units

License and Credentials Requirements:

• Current South Carolina or compact RN license
• Current CPR Certification, BLS
• Current PPD
• **Medical-Surgical care is a field requirement for positions at the psychiatric care and infirmary facilities

Primary Job Duties:

• Conduct health assessments and sick call for inmates
• Administer medications and provide treatments
• Provide health education and counseling
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
• Supervise nursing assistants
