ABOUT THE POSITION:

\n

CPS Technologies is seeking an experienced technical and commercial leader to identify and commercialize new applications for advanced materials and engineered components.

\n

\n

The Market Development Manager will own one of CPS's strategic growth markets and be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new applications, securing design wins, and building a long-term growth pipeline.

\n

\n

This role requires the ability to understand complex engineering challenges and translate them into material and manufacturing solutions using CPS's portfolio of metal matrix composites, tungsten and nickel superalloy injection molded components, radiation shielding solutions, and other advanced material technologies.

\n

\n

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing technical requirements with engineers, developing business cases with executives, and leading opportunities from concept through production.

\n

 

\n

CORE FUNCTION:

\n

Serve as the commercial leader for an assigned market segment by developing deep market expertise, identifying new applications for CPS technologies, and driving long-term profitable growth through strategic account development, design wins, and cross-functional collaboration.

\n

 

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

Market Development:

\n

\n
• Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for assigned market segments. 
\n
• Identify emerging applications and technology trends aligned with CPS capabilities. 
\n
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
\n
• Develop account plans for strategic customers and target markets.
\n

\n

 

\n

Customer Development:

\n

\n
• Build relationships with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders.
\n
• Engage customers early in product development cycles to influence specifications and material selections.    
\n
• Position CPS as a trusted technical partner and problem solver.
\n
• Identify opportunities to leverage multiple CPS technologies within customer organizations.
\n

Commercial Leadership:

\n

\n
• Lead opportunities from concept through production.
\n
• Coordinate internal resources including engineering, operations, quality, and product development teams.
\n
• Develop proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and secure design wins.
\n
• Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting using CRM systems.
\n

\n

 

\n

Strategic Planning:

\n

\n
• Develop market intelligence and competitive insights.
\n
• Support annual operating plans and long-term growth initiatives.
\n
• Represent CPS at trade shows, technical conferences, and customer events.
\n
• Collaborate across functions to ensure customer success and timely execution.
\n

\n

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
\n
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, market development, applications engineering, product management, or business development.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and manage complex, multi-year sales cycles.
\n
• Experience selling engineered products, advanced materials, precision components, or complex manufacturing solutions.
\n
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
\n
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
\n
• U.S. citizenship required.
\n

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Advanced Manufacturing

• Specialty Metals, Powder Metallurgy, Ceramics, Composites, or Advanced Materials

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

\n

No unusual physical demands. Domestic and international travel is required.

\n

 

\n

COMPENSATION:

\n

$120,000-$140,000 plus performance-based incentive compensation tied to pipeline development, design wins, and revenue growth. CPS Technologies offers an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and additional benefits.
