Hourly Housing Authority Intern Housing Authority Division / Neighborhood and Development Services Department Application Deadline: Monday, August 24, 2026 Variable daytime hours up to 25 hours per week Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Wage: $15.00 per hour Job Duration: September 2026 - August 2027 Job Summary Position is open to individuals who are currently enrolled in a social work, planning, public administration, social justice or communications program at an accredited university/college. Under the direction of the Housing Authority Executive Director, the intern will gain hands-on experience in affordable housing development, housing policy, public administration and project management while supporting short-term and ongoing Iowa City Housing Authority initiatives. The intern will assist with affordable housing research, planning, development, and program implementation. Projects may include researching affordable housing financing and funding opportunities; assisting with housing development, acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation initiatives; tracking project timelines, funding requirements, and deliverables; collecting and analyzing housing and program data; and preparing reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders. Performs other related project-based duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other Enrollment as a student in a social work, planning, public administration, social justice or communications program or a closely related field within an accredited university/college required.
